Spending the day with Image Consultant and Personal Shopper Christina Wood

Christina Wood | Image Consultant and Personal Shopper I spent the day Saturday with our client, the once engineer and manager who is now a stay at home mom.  She was extremely nice but very shy and soft-spoken.  I had to keep checking in with her a lot and reading her expressions.  She was overwhelmed (like most) with all of the information presented and I reassured her that it would take some time to process and sink in.  She is a petite 5’3” lady who has been hiding herself in her husband’s medium baggy t-shirts instead of the more fitting small tops that are cut so as not to show off her slight stomach.  I suggested and gave directions to an alteration specialist in the area, since most all pants will have to be shortened.  She fell in love with J.Jill and ended up spending about $350 in the store which she thought was an outrageous amount but she wanted the items.  Fit seemed to be the main stumbling block for her and that was the main focus on the wardrobe consultation.  I told her which of her items worked for her and which did not, but we could not go through and try every piece on to determine if it was too big.  She was better able to tell what to look for as far as fit so she will continue to weed the larger items out of her closet.  Almost every item that she owned was left over from the 80’s and all of them were staple items in neutral colors (ie: 5 identical white Land’s End turtlenecks in medium).  I know she learned a lot and felt better about making her own choices when I was done.  I told her that I will be doing a follow-up call to check on her progress.
