CHEAP AND CHIC
This week’s episode of “The Thread” focuses on the return of the ruffle. As with every fashion trend, there is a right way and a wrong way to wear it. That’s why “The Thread” decided to do a fashion smackdown of sorts that examines stars sporting the same ruffled ensembles, like the Roberto Cavalli for H&M number that both Christina Milian and Eva Longoria Parker wore. http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/a-line/celebs-get-ruffled/86
Target recently announced that British designer Alexander McQueen’s McQ label is creating a line for the Minneapolis-based megastore. The collection will be available in March ’09, which coincides with the launch of the mass retailer’s new Designer Collaborations initiative. Thanks to Target, what was once only affordable for wealthy, fashion-fabulous celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker and Katie Holmes, is now going mainstream and down market for the rest of us!
According to Women’s Wear Daily, McQueen’s Target collection “has a muted color palette of black, white, gray, and tan with accents of cobalt blue and bright pink,” and will feature current trends like bubble dresses, scarves, and skinny jeans, plus spring staples like swimwear and shorts.
While it’s still too soon to view the collection, take a peek at the McQ Spring 2009 line to see what may be in store for budget-minded Target shoppers come March. http://omg.yahoo.com/blogs/a-line/alexander-mcqueen-teams-up-with-target/85
